For the third time the Science Days of the Federal Environment Ministry about the Utilization of Offshore Wind Energy take place on 17 an 18 November in Oldenburg. The focus lies on latest results of different offshore wind energy research projects. Especially technical aspects of offshore wind energy such as systems engineering, carrying structures and grid integration will be part of the discussions.
The science days aim at giving representatives of economy, science, politics and administration an overview about the utilization of offshore wind energy in Germany and Europe. Furthermore, the experts will debate on the need of future research. During the last years the Federal Environment Ministry has set a focus on research funding of offshore wind energy. The research platforms FINO 1, 2 and 3 as well as the initiative Research at Alpha Ventus (RAVE) are some examples for the activities of the ministry in this area. The event is organized by ForWind, center for wind energy research of the universities of Oldenburg, Hanover and Bremen.
