Australia's first ever community-owned wind farm

The Hepburn Community Wind Farm was Australia's first ever community-owned wind farm. The wind farm is situated at Leonard’s Hill, 10 kilometres south of Daylesford within the Hepburn Shire in Victoria.

The site is home to two Senvion MM82 2.05 MW turbines which each have a hub height of 69 meters and a rotor diameter of 82 meters. On average, the wind farm powers an estimated 2,300 homes – more than the number of homes in Daylesford.

Construction commenced in November 2010. Senvion was the principal contractor and was responsible not only for the supply of the turbines, but also for the design, construction and commissioning of all balance of plant civil and electrical works.

To ensure the turbines are operating at peak performance, local Senvion service technicians monitor and service the turbines regularly.
