Nordsee One, Germany
Our biggest project yet
In 2014, Senvion won the contract for the supply, installation and commissioning of 54 turbines for the Nordsee One offshore wind farm, making it Senvion’s single biggest offshore project to date. Senvion manages and takes responsibility for the whole value chain of the wind turbine generator package: from engineering to commissioning. This includes all transports and logistics of the WTGs, including port logistics as well as contracting and management of installation vessels. Once completed, the wind farm will have a total capacity of 332 megawatts and a total annual output of 1.2 million MWh.
Reducing interfaces to cut contingency costs
With Senvion responsible for the supply, installation and commissioning of the turbines as well as for transport and logistics, the number of interfaces has been significantly reduced. This has brought down associated contingency costs which – together with Senvion’s output and availability guarantees as well as its proven, reliable technology – optimized the project’s risk profile and helped to secure financing.
The service and installation vessel "Polar Queen" approaches one of the turbines.
Loading of nacelles onto the installation vessel.
Assembly of rotor star before load-out.
Lifting of rotor star for installation.
Installation of rotor with a diameter of 126 m.
The result: 54 successfully installed offshore turbines.
