First Senvion 3.0M122 in Belgium: larger rotor for clean and competitive energy

Fitting wind turbine features to the site constraints is essential for the success of a wind project. The Senvion 3.0M122, with a rotor diameter of 122 meters and available at 89, 119 and 139 meters hub heights, is the wind turbine combining performance and flexibility.

 

In Belgium, Senvion signs a contract with Storm Energy GmbH including the supply, installation and maintenance of three wind turbines Senvion 3.0M122 for the Arcelor Mittal wind farm located in Ghent. This is the 8th contract signed with Storm which already installed in 2015, three Senvion 3.2M114, the tallest turbines ever installed in Belgium for Meer wind farm. To better capture wind energy, the Senvion 3.0M122 turbines at 139 meters hub height (200 meters tip height) will be installed for this wind farm. Due to site constraints, the wind farm is located in the Arcelor Mittal factory area, the Senvion turbines will be mounted blade by blade with higher safety constraints.
