Senvion - Nordsee One Offshore Wind Park

Press enjoys a day in the offshore life of the Nordsee One Teams

On Thursday morning, German journalists and photographers from WELT N24, Hamburger Abendblatt, dpa and NDR arrived at the Senvion headquarters in Hamburg to join a Senvion team heading to Wilhelmshaven. The plan: A three-hour visit to the Nordsee One team in order to gain an insight into working offshore, and to also learn more about the impressive scope of the industry.

In Wilhelmshaven, the group changed from the shuttle bus into the helicopter. Many of them wore survival suits for the first time for the half-hour flight to the Polar Queen vessel. On the ship, various installation, commissioning and service teams from Senvion went about their everyday work. As the helicopter approached the landing pad, the participants had a great view over the wind farm. Some turbines were already running, others were still waiting for commissioning. In other parts of the wind farm, only the monopiles were an indicator of where one of the Senvion 6.2M126 turbines will soon be installed in the water.

During the brief helicopter flight to the Polar Queen, photographers and camera amateurs captured impressive pictures before Alexander Wruck, Commissioning Site Manager at Senvion, took the troop for a tour on board. From the bridge, the journalists enjoyed a close observation of the turbines, seeing how our technicians entered and exited the turbine, and received an in-depth explanation about the equipment used.
