Senvion 3.4M140 Eco Blade Control: Our highest yield onshore turbine

After introduction of our new turbine 3.4M140 EBC to the German market on the first day of the HUSUM Wind trade fair in September last year – as reported in our previous Newsletter issue - Senvion proudly introduced its first class product to customers in the Polish market during Wind Power Poland 2016 in March.

With an intelligent turbine design, flexible logistics concepts and, above all, optimized for IEC 3, Senvion 3.4M140 is suitable for a wide range of different locations and predestined to be most successful also in an auction system.

With a 140m rotor diameter, operational lifetime of 25 years and a very low sound power level, the 3.4M140 in good wind conditions reaches more than 4,000 full load hours. The new turbine generation Eco Blade Control stands for more clean, affordable electricity from wind energy in the grid. Compared to the 3.0M122, the 3.4M140 can generate up to 20% greater yield. The further development of our turbine is making a major contribution to reducing power generation costs – and thereby to the competitiveness of wind energy.

The Senvion 3.4M140 is equipped with the Next Electrical System (NES). The gearbox-based concept, which features an asynchronous generator and a fully rated converter, permits a stable grid feed-in and constitutes a further development of the previous system on the basis of the DFIG (Doubly Fed Induction Generator). Thanks to its sustainable design, it generates high yields while lowering power generation costs.
