Senvion tops the table in the UK

2015 was an outstanding year for Senvion UK. Various big projects not only contributed to increasing the UK’s wind energy installations, but also the position of Senvion in the UK onshore market: Senvion has taken the number one position with 29 per cent market share which corresponds to 749 megawatts (MW) (based on contracts signed from January 2014-December 2015).*

By that, Senvion has reached the highest ever market share in the UK. Second and third place are occupied by Siemens with 16 per cent (413 MW) and Vestas with 15.5 per cent (401 MW). Raymond Gilfedder, Managing Director Europe North, commented: “This position demonstrates that Senvion has the right products for the UK market. I am especially proud of the consistently positive feedback we receive from our customers describing our local engineering support as exceptionally advanced. All our teams work hard to achieve these stellar results and it is especially rewarding when these efforts are recognised internally and externally. I would therefore like to thank our customers for their trust in Senvion and for enabling us to reach this position. It is this level of mutual trust and respect that gives us the edge over our competitors and I am confident that we will maintain and further build on this position.”

The significant contract conclusions from last year, such as the Beinneun, Ray and Brockloch Rig wind farms, contributed a great deal to this record result Keith Burns, Head of Sales Europe North, said: “We have adjusted our product offering to the specifics of the UK market in order to meet the requirements of our customers in the best possible way. We have many clients who repeatedly buy Senvion turbines but we have also won some major new customers in recent years.”
