The wind farm Picos Vale do Chão located in Portugal is now commissioned. It is the first wind farm of the Âncora project with a total rated power of 171.6 Megawatts (MW). The sponsors are Galp Energia SGPS, S.A., Martifer SGPS. S.A. and Ferrostaal GmbH.
11 Senvion MM92 with a nominal power of 2.05MW and a hub height at 80 metres are installed for the wind farm Picos Vale do Chão located in the districts of Leiria and the districts of Coimbra in the center of Portugal.
The nacelles and the blades are produced in the Senvion Portuguese state-of-the-art factories respectively located in Oliveira de Frades and in Vagos. This project also covers the local sourcing of towers, electrical components, civil works and electrical works.
José Costa, Managing Director of Senvion Portugal states: "Senvion is ready for the service challenge with the opening of a new service station in Moïmenta and the recruitment of 9 additional service technicians. Our manufacturing facilities located in Portugal, combined with our local highly-skilled team are the perfect combination to serve the Portuguese market."
In Portugal, Senvion has installed around 100 turbines with a rated power of 200 Megawatts. More than half of the turbines are Senvion MM92 which perfectly fit for medium and low wind locations.
