REpower awarded job prize

Hamburg / Frankfurt am Main: Yesterday REpower Systems AG (WKN 617703) won the Job Prize in the “Jobs Absolute” category. The award of the Wirtschaftsclub Rhein-Main e.V. and the German Federal Employment Agency was presented for the eleventh time.

At the event in Frankfurt, Andreas Kaffka, Director Human Resources of REpower Systems AG, took the prize – in the form of a sculpture of the artist Bernd Fischer – on behalf of the Hamburg wind turbine manufacturer. With the “Jobs Absolute“ award, the creation of new work places at REpower was recognized. In the one-year period to the middle of 2008, 271 new employees were given jobs. As a result, the number of employees increased by almost 31% within a year to 1,148. The REpower Group now has more than 1,900 employees worldwide and in the 2008/09 fiscal year moved across the EUR 1 billion sales threshold for the first time.

”These figures are impressive, even for the rapidly growing wind energy industry. We are very pleased about the prize,” stated Kaffka, “for this trend reflects our success in pushing up sales and profits as well as the confidence of our customers.” The Human Resources director of the third-largest German wind turbine manufacturer underlined the fact in his acceptance speech: “REpower has aligned itself to generating further growth. In the future we still have a great need for highly qualified staff in all company areas who want to work with commitment at REpower as an international premium supplier of wind turbines.“

The job investor prize has been awarded since 1998 in the three categories, “Jobs Absolute”, “Jobs Percentage” and “Jobs Trainees".
