The turbines from the 2.XM series reliably generate high yields at sites with low to medium wind speeds. The series is characterized by its modular system design, and meets a wide range of site requirements, regulations and grid requirements. It can thus be used in a large number of locations. An additional benefit: with an operating temperature range of -20 °C to +40 °C, the 2.XM turbines can even be operated under extreme climatic conditions.
The 2.XM series combines time-tested technologies with innovative features to further increase reliability, efficiency and yields. The power output is controlled by an electrical pitch system which adjusts the pitch angle by means of three separate actuators – one for each of the three blades – for high system reliability. The electrical system consists of a synchronous generator with a full conversion IGBT-converter for stable output and global grid compliance. The power conversion system decouples the internals from grid influences and protects the turbine electronics from electric grid loads. An internal supply unit provides the turbine with constant voltage and frequency in the event of a grid shutdown. A combined cooling circle for the mechanical and electrical drivetrain and the power electronics enables a further increase in efficiency.
